Cummins Technical Center

Photographer: Brad Feinknopf
Cummins approached us with the opportunity to create an exhibit that celebrated the patents they hold. Along with the exhibit, we created a welcome wall at the front entrance of the building made entirely of engine parts. There is also a scrolling poster wall showcasing employees' CAD designs.

Awards: Communication Arts, Design Annual, 2011     Published: Environmental Graphics Magazine, No. 3 2012
In 2011 we faced the challenge of designing our new office space. We created a 20' wide dimensional wall to stimulate ideas and complete the office. The completed wall reads, in custom designed letters made up of 2,804 pencils: good design lasts.

The New York City private investment firm needed a sign for the entrance to their new office. We designed a bold but subtle sign to integrate seamlessly with the clean, monochromatic architecture.

Carrier Pigeon—Volume 1, Edition 4

Designed at with Kyle Green
Carrier Pigeon, a quarterly illustrated fiction and fine art magazine, asked us to design an issue.
By allowing us full creative control of the 144 pages, Carrier Pigeon gave us an opportunity to showcase the writers and artists in a design intended to make the reader interact with the magazine.

Yinka Shonibare

Designed at with Kyle Green
After I completed the design program at Western Michigan University, the Exhibitions Department asked me to design a catalog for the upcoming exhibit of Yinka Shonibare's textiles, sculptures, and photographs. The 28 page catalog contains two essays and photographs of his work.

Fables

For the debut album of Michigan bassist, Ben Rolston, I designed a CD case to evoke the natural and surreal sounds of his music. Using only two colors and a cardboard case, the print reflects the organic feel of his original compositions.

The visual identity of the band was designed with a custom logotype to evoke the feeling
of their music.

The Dennis Darcy Construction Group

The Dennis Darcy Construction Group builds professional audio, video, and broadcast
facilities. They needed an identity system that matched their structurally sound and exceptional work—strong and detailed but not intimidating.

Gib Oil

Gib Oil, located in Gibralter, provides fuel products and related services for marine, aviation, and land-based customers. The GO icon, besides being an abbreviation for Gib Oil, creates a sense of motion and conveys the client's idea that Gib Oil allows you to go anywhere.

Flying by Manner Effect

To introduce Manner Effect to potential Kickstarter backers, I created a music video for their song “Flying”. Incorporating elements of their daily routines as musicians living in New York City, the video portrays the intersecting lives of the band members.

Space Launch Productions

Title card designed for Space Launch Productions, a small production company based
in Brooklyn, NY.

Ali Jackson

To help Ali Jackson have a website to fit his wide range of musical interests, I designed a colorful, graphic and simple website.

In 2008 I participated in an intensive design study with Wolfgang Weingart in Basel, Switzerland. The program included studies in drawing, color, typography, space, and form. This poster series is a collective illustration of my experiences in Switzerland.

Type Design Explorations

I have been fascinated with type design for as long as I have been a designer.
It is the basis of written communication and graphic design. This is a selection
of personal type design exercises.
